Sunday 18 July 2021 – General Sikorski Day
We renew our tradition of having the Holy Mass at the Sikorski Club. The celebrant was the Greenmount Parish Dean Father Leonard Maciończyk. Readings by Vlodek Bilski, psalms sang by Maria Stańczak.
Commemorative Lunch took place at the Function Room of the Sikorski Club. Short film about recent history of Poland was played. Music for the Mass was provided by Daniela Birch, Maciek Warzycki, Rysiek Bieńkowski, Andrzej Burzyński.
The most important moment of the day was the announcement of the awarding of Honorary Membership – the highest distinction conferred by the Polish Club Sikorski. It is awarded to the most distinguished members of the Club.
This year, Honorary Membership was awarded to:
– Ms Barbara Bilski
Ms Barbara Bilski has served as the Club’s Secretary for 9 years and has been a member of the Management Committee for over 9 years. She has been a member of the Club for more than 15 years.
Over the past four years, in addition to her duties as Secretary, she has also been responsible for the Club’s accounting, including matters related to GST. The Club’s GST registration in 2017 enabled us to apply for grants exceeding $15,000 in value.
Through her dedication and hard work, Ms Bilski has made a significant contribution to the development of the Club, as well as to the promotion of Poland and Polish culture in Western Australia. Her contribution has extended beyond voluntary service — it has also included exemplary commitment and financial support for the Club.
Congratulations and our sincere appreciation to Ms Barbara Bilski!
