Australian Journey – Special Screening
In 2023 Polish-born explorer Michael Kozok trekked across Australia, alone, self-supported and un-motorised. An epic journey through the uncharted heart of a country that became his new home.
Michael Kozok grew up in Poland when the borders were closed. When they finally opened in 1989 Michael rushed to visit as many countries as he could. He cycled across Europe as a teenager, hitch-hiked through Africa and Asia, and trekked un-motorised through South America – from the southern most tip to the very north of the continent.
But his true dream was to reach Australia, and explore its deserts. After travelling overland from Poland to Australia, Michael started planning his most ambitious project yet.

It was a bold self challenge: to cross 4 deserts, climb 7 mountains & reach 4 points of the compass ofa dry & empty continent, without using any form of motorised transport. He’s now visited 156 countries and trekked thousands of kilometres. And made Australia his permanent home.
