Concert Vechi Acum
Explore Poland’s rich tapestry of ethno-folk music this October with our international guests – Vechi Acum!
Vechi Acum (meaning “where old meets new” in Romanian) are a group of musicians from different ethnic regions of Poland, playing a fresh mix of gypsy, jazz and ethno-folk. Their concert programme includes traditional songs from Southern Poland, Slovakia, Macedonia, Serbia and Romania, performed in their unique style and original musical arrangements.
As part of their Australian live tour they will perform two distinctive concerts in Perth.
The first Friday night concert “Sen Maricky” (Maricka’s dream) will be hosted at Polish Club Sikorski. “Maricka’s Dream” tells the emotional story of a young woman being forced to marry a man she doesn’t love, because he was chosen by her family.
